1. Who we are
Medicine Career Simulator ("the game") is published by Ali Dinch, an individual in New South Wales, Australia, who publishes games under the name sLumLake simuLations ("we", "us").

This policy explains what information the game handles, why, and what choices you have. It applies to the Medicine Career Simulator app on Android.
2. The short version
- You can play the whole game as a guest, offline, without giving us any personal information.
- The game shows no ads and contains no advertising or tracking software.
- We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing.
- If you choose to sign in with Google, we store your email address, display name and saved life so you can get it back on another phone. You can delete all of it from inside the game at any time.
3. What the game handles
3.1 Playing as a guest
Your life in the game (your character, stats, in-game money, relationships, decisions and settings) is saved on your device only. We never receive it. Uninstalling the game or clearing its data deletes it.
3.2 If you sign in (optional)
If you sign in with Google, these are stored with our service provider, Google Firebase:
| Information | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address, display name and a user id | To recognize your account when you sign in |
| Your saved life | To restore it on another device or after a reinstall |
The account is a sLumLake account. The same account also signs you in to our other games, such as ARMBAR, if you play them. Each game stores only its own saves.
3.3 Purchases
The game has no in-app purchases at present. If purchases are added, they will be paid for through Google Play, we will never see or store your card or payment details, and this policy will be updated before they are offered.
3.4 Names you type
The name you give your character is stored with your saved life. It is not shown to anyone else: Medicine Career Simulator is a single-player game. Every other person in the game is fictional and generated by the game.
3.5 What we do not collect
- No health or medical information about you. The game is fiction: nothing you choose in it is recorded as a fact about you.
- No advertising identifier.
- No location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera access.
- No analytics or behavior tracking of our own.
Our service providers (section 5) may process technical information that is needed to deliver their service, such as IP address and device type, under their own privacy policies.
4. Why we use it, and our legal grounds
We use the information above only to run the game: to sign you in, back up and restore your saved life, and answer you if you contact us.
Where laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR apply, our legal grounds are: performing our agreement with you (accounts and saves), our legitimate interest in keeping the game secure, and complying with legal obligations.
5. Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that run parts of the game for us, and only for that purpose:
| Provider | What for | Their policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore) | Sign-in and cloud saves | https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Google Play | App delivery | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our legal rights. We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.
6. Where it is stored
Our service providers store and process information on servers in the United States and other countries, which may be outside the country you live in. They apply their own safeguards for international transfers, described in the policies linked above.
7. How long we keep it
- A guest's saved life stays on your device until you delete it or the app.
- Account information and cloud saves are kept until you delete your account.
8. Deleting your account and data
- In the game: the settings button (the gear) at the top of the screen → Account → Delete account. This deletes your account and its cloud saves.
- Without the game: sign in at https://daviddinch.github.io/slumlake/medicine/delete-account.html and delete the account there. It happens straight away.
Because the account is shared, deleting it removes it from every sLumLake game, together with the saves each of them backed up to it. In Medicine Career Simulator the account's life is removed from your phone as well. A life you made as a guest, without signing in, stays on the phone until you uninstall the game or clear its data.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict how it is used, and to complain to your local privacy regulator. In Australia that is the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
You can delete your account and everything stored with it yourself, from inside the game (section 8). For anything else, contact daviddinch@gmail.com. We will not treat you differently for using your rights.
10. Children
Medicine Career Simulator is intended for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian can delete a child's account at any time from inside the game: the settings button at the top of the screen → Account → Delete account.
11. Security
Information is sent over encrypted connections, and access to accounts is controlled by Firebase Authentication. Each player can read and write only their own saves. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be lost or accessed without permission.
12. Changes to this policy
When the game changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this policy, change the date at the top, and tell you in the game before the change takes effect where the law requires it.
